What is a molten salt reactor?
Answers from the sources
Copenhagen Atomics
“A molten salt reactor (MSR) uses liquid salt as both the fuel carrier and the coolant, instead of solid fuel rods and pressurised water. The reactor operates at atmospheric pressure, which removes the risk of a pressurised steam explosion. Higher operating temperatures also make the energy conversion more efficient than conventional light water reactors.”
