Questions & answers

What is iAgro?

“iAgro is a decision-support app (DSS) for precision agriculture and digital farming that harnesses technologies such as augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), computer vision, digital twin and cloud computing. iAgro provides georeferenced and time-stamped information on the key biometric and biophysical parameters of woody crops, helping farmers and technicians make better decisions in the management of agronomic inputs.”

Which crops does it work on?

“iAgro is available for most woody crops, whether intensive, super-intensive or without a planting layout: vine, olive, stone fruit (plum, peach, apricot, cherry, almond, pistachio, hazelnut), pome fruit (apple, pear), citrus (orange, lemon). tropical crops (mango, guava, banana, papaya, coffee, cocoa, avocado).”

What is iDrone?

“iDrone is Agrobit's aerial drone-survey service: vigour, water-stress, 3D-model and prescription maps, as well as the aerial distribution of liquid and solid products and beneficial insects, with ENAC-certified pilots across the whole territory.”

Do the maps also include soil or the inter-row area?

“No: before generating the final maps we remove soil, the inter-row area and anything that isn't the crop of interest from the survey, so vigour, water-stress and prescription maps reflect only the crop's vegetation, without noise from bare soil or spontaneous vegetation between the rows.”
