How much does tree pruning or felling cost?
“Three things set the price: the height of the tree, the access to it, and the volume of wood to take away. Two trees of the same height can differ twofold depending on access. The amount is settled after a site visit, with green waste removal and travel included, and it does not change afterwards.”
Is there a tax credit on tree pruning or felling?
“No. Work on ornamental trees falls outside the scope of French home-help services: no tax credit and no tax reduction applies, whichever contractor does the job. The amount written on the quote is the amount you pay.”
Do I need permission to fell a tree?
“Sometimes. A listed tree, a protected wooded area or a protected bank in the local urban plan calls for a prior declaration to the town hall (mairie). Rules differ from one town to the next, so check with your mairie before any felling; Maxime tells you during the visit when it is worth asking.”
